About Lectio

A Bible companion for slow reading and prayer.

Lectio is a Bible companion designed to help you move beyond casual reading into genuine comprehension and long-term retention. Instead of racing through chapters, Lectio invites you into a slower, more attentive practice rooted in the ancient rhythm of Lectio Divina — read, meditate, pray, contemplate — and pairs it with modern learning science so the Word takes root and stays with you.

Lectio is for anyone who wants to know Scripture more deeply: the new believer looking for a trustworthy starting point, the lifelong churchgoer ready to move past familiarity into mastery, and the small group or parish that wants to walk a passage together. Whether you have five minutes between meetings or a quiet hour at dawn, the app meets you where you are and shapes each session to your day.

Lectio guides you through Scripture in the ancient Lectio Divina rhythm: read, meditate, pray, contemplate. Daily reflections are written with the help of AI and are not reviewed by a pastor before you see them, so read them alongside the Bible itself.

Lectio is built by a small team who care deeply about both Scripture and the craft of learning. Public-domain translations keep the text free to share, and the design is intentionally quiet — a cathedral hush rather than a feed — so the Word, not the interface, stays at the center.

Who makes Lectio

Lectio is made by Freedom Empowering Capital Management LLC, a small independent company in Colorado. Questions, feedback or prayer-app ideas: freedomempowering1@yahoo.com.

How Lectio uses Scripture and AI

Every verse you read in Lectio is real Bible text from the public-domain World English Bible, never an AI rewrite. Lectio uses AI only to suggest reflection questions, prayers, and summaries around the passage, so treat those as prompts for your own prayer, not as Scripture or teaching. Questions?
