These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Freedom Empowering Capital Management LLC, a for-profit limited liability company based in Colorado ("we," "us"), for the Lectio app at lectodivina.com ("Lectio"). You can reach us at freedomempowering1@yahoo.com.
By creating an account or using Lectio, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Lectio.
The service
Lectio helps you read Scripture, follow reading plans, keep a private prayer list, review memory verses, take quizzes, join groups, and use guided reflections.
Some content in Lectio, including reflections, summaries, quizzes, definitions, guided sessions, and "go deeper" notes, is generated by AI. AI content can be wrong or incomplete. It is not pastoral counsel, not a statement of faith from any church, and not reviewed by a person before you see it. Always check important matters against a trusted Bible translation and your own faith community.
Lectio is not medical, counseling, or crisis care. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988.
Who can use Lectio
You must be 13 or older to use Lectio. Groups may be used by families, but every person with their own account or login must be 13 or older.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity on your account. Tell us right away at freedomempowering1@yahoo.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- post someone else's prayer request, name, or email address without their permission;
- harass, threaten, or harm others, or post hateful or unlawful content;
- try to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service; or
- use Lectio for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Your content
Prayers, reflections, and group notes you submit remain yours. You give us permission to store them, process them to provide the service (including sending text to AI providers when you use AI features), and show them to the people you choose to share them with, such as group members or an accountability partner. We do not claim ownership of Scripture.
Free and paid features
Reading Scripture and keeping your prayer list are free. We may offer optional paid plans, such as Lectio Plus, that unlock extra features. The price, billing period, and included features will be shown before you pay.
Subscriptions, trials, cancellation and refunds
- Automatic renewal: Lectio Plus renews automatically each month or each year, depending on the plan you choose, until you cancel. Your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period.
- Free trials: If a plan includes a 7-day free trial, you won't be charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged.
- Cancelling: You can cancel anytime from Settings or by emailing freedomempowering1@yahoo.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Refunds: Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll review it.
- Price changes: If we change the price of a subscription, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- Payments: Payments are processed by Stripe. Any optional "support Lectio" payment is a voluntary payment to our for-profit company and is not a tax-deductible donation.
Changes to the service
We may add, change, or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you're subscribed to, we'll let you know and you can cancel.
Disclaimers
Lectio is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI content will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on content in Lectio.
Ending your use
You can stop using Lectio and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.
Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we'll let account holders know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Lectio after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
